05 Chrystler Crossfire 77k

Asked by bodybuilding420 May 04, 2015 at 05:51 AM about the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It stated with a vacuum hose that went into the intake manifold that we linked to another
vacuum to the engine to fix a rough idling problem from the frayed hose. and my car died
on me while going 25, slowing down, doing 80 on the highway and 25 minutes later taking
the off ramp it just flat cut out. what i had to do in order to make it turn on each time was to
pull off the positive on the battery and ;et it sit for 20 minutes. just replaced the entire
intake manifold and all the vacuum hoses.  Once i did this it would not run. yay so i
replaced the crankshaft and camshaft sensors. still no luck it would try to turn but its not
getting a spark or gas i guess  but i got it brought over to the dealership to have them
replace my ECM and they did it however it was running rather rough when i got it back...
then it died the next day  and had driven it a good amount around town.  just a little rough
idle. bt now its back to the same thing. Any help or tips at all please please help you can

Hi bodybuilding420, I sent you an email but in case it sent to your spam folder, here was my fix when I had the same issue. I too own a crossfire. Mine is a 2005. I had the same issue and found out that the problem can be fixed by just changing the brand of the crankshaft position sensor that you replace. According to several people on crossfireforum.org the part goes out approx. Every 50,000 miles. I now keep a spare in my glove box. $40 fix!! How to fix: It has to be replaced with a "Bosch" part! Part# Bosch 0261210170 Crank Position Sensor I tried 3 other brands including the OEM part and they would all work for one day then car wouldnt turn over again. I bought mine on Amazon and it was only $40. http://amzn.com/B001COAS78? tag=hotu0c1-20 Easy directions here: https://howtune.com/articles/152- replace-the-crankshaft-position- sensor-on-a-chrysler-crossfire Thanks, Evette
