My car won't shift out of park cant find the shift
release button or take off the paneling around the
dear shifter !

Do you have brake lights? Your brake switch might be the issue because it is tied to the shift interlock mechanism.

I have to push on the brakes to shift out of park. I believe that there is a connection at the bottom of the shifter and there is probably an electronic connection between the brake and the steering column.
