Gas pedal not working

Crossed jumper cables. Car will start
and idle. Gas pedal does nothing

There is a fuse for the ETCS (Electronic Throttle Control System) under the hood, you likely fried it. If one or more TPS sensors are lost the ETCS goes into a fail mode and limits gas to the engine. So check the fuse first.
