Why is my car burning gas so quickly?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2011 Corolla is burning through gas at an alarming
rate, although my driving habits and daily miles haven't
changed. I have filled up 3 times in 5 days. I have always
maintained the recommended maintenance on my car. I
currently have 142, 072 miles, most of which are highway
miles. I'm not due for any maintenance for another 7,000
miles.

Vacuum leak on the evap system can cause this

Thank you so much! How would I know if this is the issue? Is there something I can do to determine it, or would a mechanic have to diagnose the issue?

Visual inspection of the hoses, or make a smoke machine that runs off baby oil and plug it into the evap system
