2005 Pacifica AWD Touring 3.5 L V6
I have a 2005 Pacifica touring AWD limited that I
just had the te belt and water pump done. Now I
have rough idle, check engine light on(but says
"gascap" on the display dash) wants to stall when
siting or when having to slow down quickly to a
stop. It never stalls but does drop down as if it will.
Also, had front end fixed (rack and pinion, Cv axles
etc) now its been 3-4mos and Im having the same
symptoms I did before I repaired the front end....
What could be the reason?
vacuum leak in the evaporative system~
Thank you. about the front end, before an auto repair shop fixed a problem like a rack/Pinion, control arms etc. they would check for frame damage right... and would frame damage cause the same situation that was just repaired ?
they may have knocked a vacuum hose loose...they screwed up~
Idles OK? this is a fuel injected system and no doubt has a spaghetti of vacuum hoses under there if they did knock one loose...personally I broke some SAAB fuel clear hoses when I worked as a Mechanic in Berkeley 1995~ they screw up...and try to charge you~...I know~!
The check engine light is reading a "P" code , which is the evap. System ,but they say it would NOT cause rough idle, wanting to stall, bad gas mileage and slow pick up. So no fix to all the problems ... grrr.
cap is loose or leak in the evap system~
2005...check your maintenance schedule in the glovebox~ something has not been tended to~ something as simple as a pcv elbow (like around four bucks) can cause performance problems if gummed up~ a routine item....but if Never looked at, might be something that could give you a problem such as the one you have~
put a new gas cap on that...how much? like under 20 bucks...my toyota would keep suckin' and Never let ambient air into the system...so these systems can over-do it sometimes~
