2007 ford taurus - AC compressor bypass
Asked by ShadeTreeAmateur Jan 03, 2017 at 11:53 AM about the 2007 Ford Taurus SE Fleet
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
AC compressor seized. Not interested in replacing it. It looks like the engine
has to be lowered in order to remove the compressor to replace or even to
install a bypass pulley. DOes anyone have a workaround?

No, you either replace the AC bearing or take it out and put in the AC delete pulley.

Not sure if you found a solution, but in my 04 Dodge stratus I just put a smaller serpentine belt in and completely bypassed the a/c compressor. Not sure if that would work on a Taurus or not
