2012 MKZ Hybrid will not turn off

Asked by shaferlarr May 31, 2018 at 07:18 PM about the 2012 Lincoln MKZ FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have MKZ 2012 Hybrid with Lincoln remote; there are two problems.  One, on two occasions, the dashboard has went blank, engine shutdown while driving (still have hazard lights).  Once pulled over for a stop, you can remove the key and it will restart; sometimes it may turning the key two or threetimes to restart.  Problem two started about the same time, what happens is you can stop the car, turn the key off and the engine continues to run just like you never shut it off.  After several attempts to turn the car off, the car will finally accept the turnoff and shutdown.  Both problems started after replacement of the Air Conditioner Evaporation Sensor (resulted in removal of dashboard).
