2014 MKZ not starting

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Lincoln 2014 MKZ won't start. All the lights work, radio, anti-theft, etc. When I
push the start button, it's a single click, and then nothing. More notably, the
radio does this weird flickering thing and the speakers pop then everything
goes silent and it's like the software system reboots itself and I get the dash
lights back on and the radio comes back on, and its right back to square 1.

I would clean the battery cable connections at the battery and the starter. The connections must be absolutely clean, free of corrosion and tight. Also have the battery charged and tested as it may be bad. A quick check of the voltage at the battery might yield a clue about it's condition. Above about 12.5 volts (engine off) means fully charged. If battery voltage is less than 12 volts, you may need a new battery. https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=COJr7OB23Hw
dealer needs to reprogram not shuting down ccompletly leaving low voltage draw ifnot used 4 day or 2 willdrain battery
I had the same issue with a 640 cold cranking amp battery. Just take it back to where you bought it. Add a few $ for an up grade in cc amps. I believe mine was a 690 to 725 or so from Costco. Works perfectly & starts everytime. Space is snug but 1st connect neg. then positive as space is minimal.
