2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertable Upper Strut Mount

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertable 2.4L

Replaced front struts.  Bought online.

They worked great for about 2 days then started to squeek when turning
wheel.  I looked at upper strut mounts.  They seem ok, but the rubber on
the inside under the large washer appears to be shaving away with little
bits of rubber.

I am concerned about this.

The shaft bolt and nut are already bottomed out.

Is the strut bearing causing my issues?

Do I need to jack the car up and losen that bolt...then lower the car to
adjust the strut?

I am at wits end.
