Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Does anyone have a problem with strut mount
tower rust on the 2004 Sebring 2 door coupe ?? Or
any year for that matter. I have no idea why this
happened. I mean I know what caused it. But is it
because of the design of the car?

I would say that car is unsafe to be on the road with that damage. Not sure if it can be fixed or not. I'll bet you live in the Northern States or Canada and the damage was likely caused or made worse by road salt in the winter. Maybe have a body shop look at it for you.

That looks like road salt rot. Like Bob says, the car is unsafe. Odds are there is a lot of rust in other places. Time to shop for a new car.

Actually that is the only place with any significant rust. Though I do live in Michigan. But why wouldn’t it do that on the left strut mount? I know there was some body changes in 04 and that is why I was asking if anyone with this specific 2 door coupe with 2.4 L because there are other Sebring styles that maybe this happened to theirs as well. I’ve lived in Michigan my whole life and I’ve never seen this rust be that significant before.
