HELP** Died & Having A Hard Time Starting** HELP
So I bought a 2004 Chrysler Sebring
Limited Convertible with 2.7L engine. I
drove it home and that night, I went for a
drive. 5 miles down the road I noticed my
car died. So I parked it on a residential
street and tried to start it. It sounded like
the starter was very weak. It would crank
one rotation and click. Almost sounded like
low compression but it wasn't overheating.
Checked oil and coolant for contamination
and both were clean. I got someone to give
me a Jump and it didn't work.
The next day, I checked the battery, had
12volts. Tapped on the starter and nothing
happened.
So I took the starter and the battery out
and took it to the nearest Oreilly. The
starter is good and the battery didn't have
enough cranking amps. So I bought a new
battery and a starter for the heck of it and
still nothing. I can tell that the battery
helped a tad but still only cranks one
rotation and clicks. (returned the starter).
I checked starter fuse/ relay, good.
Checked the ASD relay (auto shut down),
good.
I thought that maybe the engine is
somewhat seized. Emptied oil and seemed
half full.
I tried turning the crankshaft pulley and it
would not budge. So I took a video of the
crank pulley to see if it actually turns over
When I try to start it and it does.
I'm lost at this point.
Possibly a grounding issue? Almost
sounds like the starter is not getting
enough power or the engine in general
since it died. I'm just hoping the engine is
not seized.
I am mechanical enclined and have lots of
tools to do the repairs as well as a
voltmeter.
Thank your for the help.
