I have a 2009 Nissan Altima and my Flywheel needs to be replaced. The question is for this car is the Flywheel able to be replaced without replacing the entire transmission? Or is it connected?

yes you can replace the fly wheel separate as it is bolted to your crankshaft but the transmission has to be removed to access it
