I cant install the alternator belt in my 2004 chrysler sebring 2.4 DOHC

so i decided to change my alternator myself to save money but after i was done. i couldn't
put the belt back on. the tension pully is located in such narrow place next to the frame
that i cant seem to get any tool to fit if any one one has done it before is there a special
too or trick to moving that tension pully.

You can also try a serpentine belt tool. Essentially a long, thin metal rod that will fit in the tight spaces. Most parts stores offer one for rental.

2.4 is the same as neon just different body, if you poke your head almost to cowling w hood up look down you will see alt. Tools 15mm to unlock it 13 to loosen and reset tension belt should have less than a quarter tun i once set or squealing will be very annoying squeals keep condition on going tightneng 13mm on bracket till it stops DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN damage to external components can result.

My 06 sebring 2.4 was easy took passenger wheel off took splash guard off the tensioner comes to a square point a 15 mm wrench slides right over the end of it and then push towards front of car releases belt tension take belt of then put new one on
