This could be almost anything. About the only thing you could look for is something in the player. Open the door and take a look inside with a flashlight maybe there is something stuck inside from kids.
try using a dvd lens cleaner kit and see if that helps- the "eye" an get dusty after a lot of use. I hope this helps.
Every time I load a DVD into the factory overhead rear DVD player it says unknown DVD. What is wrong?
