vibration between 40-50 mph

Had the same thing on my 06 Mountaineer but it was only when it shifted at that speed. Had it looked at with no cure found short of rebuilding or replacing the trans. Since it was only at that shift point (which I believe to be between high and overdrive), I manually shut off the OD when I knew I was going to be driving for any distance at that speed. The car has about 110K on it and still going strong so I can live with this "rumble strip" annoyance and avaoid a trans swap. Been doing it for 3 years now.
Thank you. It comes and goes in that speed range, I'll have to pay attention if it is at the shift point. If accelerating rapidly it doesn't seem to happen. At least I found comfort that you have 3 years of it and it isn't immanent failure.....
