2012 Honda Civic LX won't start
Asked by 1Car Feb 18, 2014 at 03:25 PM about the 2012 Honda Civic LX
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2012 Honda Civic LX won't start. I drove it to the store (engine off), took it home
(engine off), tried to start it again and it won't start. All of the lights work, air works, radio
works, etc., but when I go to turn on the engine, there's only a strange clicking noise.
Any thoughts?

Sounds like not enough juice to run engine starter - accessories will run and starter is a no go as certain energy level in the battery. Hopefully its battery and not the starter solenoid. I just put in a starter, $139 life time warinty.O Ralies, and iit is doing the same as yours one month later. 06 honda civic ex, starter wont engage does nothing, battery is up and all lights work
SOLVED: The issue was with the battery, which was drained with not enough juice to start the engine. It was covered under warranty, so it was towed to Honda and the battery was replaced all free of charge.
hi! I am having the same problem with my 2012 honda civic. Did you just call Honda and let them know what was going on and they offered to replace the battery for free? I cannot find anything in my warranty that says this is covered. Thank you
You should have three years warranty from date of purchase. This is for new cars. I told them upfront that this is all covered under warranty since it's within three years of purchase of the car. And, I received no bill at all. Free towing, free battery, free checkup, etc.
The link takes you to the warranty for 2012 Honda Civic. The 12 volt battery is covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles. http://owners.honda.com/documentum/warranty/handbooks/awl45311.pdf
Hi, I have's a 1995 Honda Accord sedan, even though it's an older car; but hey it's a (HONDA) It's has close to two thousand miles on it, but still ran fine or at lease as good as it was to be expected. Now all that I can get it to do is turn over, strong battery, lights, horn works, but can't get it to start. Can you please help, this happens to be my wife and I second car so it's very important can you help. Or possible point me in the right direction. My name is Darryl 571-422-1670
The solution to my car's problem is the battery... I'm not sure what the situation is on older models. If you tried the battery, and it's strong, I'm not sure what the issue is. You could possibly try jumping the battery. My 1 year old battery spazzed out during the cold winter while not being used, so it could be worth a shot. Otherwise, sorry, I'm no mechanic - I just Googled around and asked q's.
