02 mustang will not come out of park

car will not come out of park . already changed brake light switch . it fixed the
no light problem but the car still will not come out of park. ?????

The "brake light switch" only controls the illumination or the bulbs when the brakes are applied. The neutral safety switch allows you to shift out of park and start the vehicle.

Will assume it’s an automatic… with key on engine off press the brake peddel and Listen for a clicking sound coming form the shifter area.. if u don’t hear that then the shift interlock is probably not working… neutral switch will only prevent it from starting not coming out of gear
