Hood latch won't release the hood

Asked by JerryMissig Sep 13, 2013 at 12:02 PM about the 2003 Chrysler 300M Special FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have an interior release for the hood latch.  Once activated, the hood pops up but the latch won't release the hood completely.  Enough room to squeeze hands under the hood and touch the actual latch, but can't rotate to release the hood.

You should have another latch/handle right under the lip of the hood. Once you pop the hood with the interior latch then you pick up on hood lightly and push the under hood release latch to fully release the mechanism. Then hood will raise.

A gentle push down while swiping secondary hood release should open hood. Once open look to left and right on part just under hood (coresupport) will be two rubber thingys that have a corkscrew appearance ( bump stops) one quarter turn at a time adjust till hood pops according to your happiness
