I have a 2004 VW Passat.. Wagon with an 1.8 T engine. I am under 104k . Recently I have noticed a "bucking" occurring while I am sitting at a stop light ... It persists for a minute or so ...

Asked by SandraB2014 Oct 01, 2015 at 02:30 PM about the 2004 Volkswagen Passat GLX 4Motion Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The "bucking" will continue for a
minute and then eventually stop. It
has also started to do the same while
accelerating. The mechanic I went to
just gave me a list of things that
could possibly be wrong with it and
repairs most likely amounting in
close to $800. Ugh I might as well
get another car if this is the case. I
love this car and really don't want to
get rid of it. But also fear that after
105k it's just going to become a
money pit. So here is what I got I
have cylinder misfires 1-12...  DTC
P0300-P0312. Perhaps it's the spark
plugs... Coil? Maybe a fuel pump or
a filter? I have no idea all I know is
that I don't have $800 to shell out
and perhaps someone has had a
similar experience and can steer me
in the right direction so I can tell the
mechanics THIS Is what I want you
to work on. Please please please
help.!

You need different mechanics- somebody who is professional enough not to be guessing- somebody who will tell you exactly what's wrong- and exactly what it will cost- that's the way it works-
