Is there a Do It Yourself book for minor maintenance (oil change, air filter replacement, brakes, etc.) on a 2003 VW Passat GLX V6 2.8L?

I have a 2003 VW passat GLX (4Motion V6 2.8L engine) and wanted to do minor maintenance myself. Like oil changes, air filters, battery changes, etc. But the manual that comes with car is not very helpful. For example: the owners manual doesn't show where the air filter is located and just the other day I had to change my battery but the manual didn't give instructions onhow to remive the battery, which was very complex since you have to remove plastice coverings.

Go to your local parts stores. The are manuals made by "HAYNES" that will break down your car in full detail in every aspect. It also includes photos. Please let me know if this helps

And if you need more in depth information ,you can purchase the manuals published by Bentley publications.This is factory level service information

I purchased a Bentley service manual to cover my 2003 Passat 4motion v6. It seems to be a great manual with lot's of information--may a zillion pages, but I've yet to find an index to facilitate finding stuff. Any help??

Bentley manuals are the best resource for information, but the indexing of information really could use some improvement. All of you should be aware that the VW 2.8 V6 does require a timing belt replacement, besides normal maintenance items, at 100K miles.
