Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I know it's kind of stupid question but I was wondering how often people are getting tune-ups and if anyone has logged the mileage of when the car should get a tune-up.  Any other recommendations on increasing the fuel range or regarding engine performance would be greatly appreciated.  Any tips and tricks you would like to share are certainly welcome.

well a good rule of thumb is to tune your car up about every fifty thousand miles. and another thing you should know about your car is to take very good care of your turbo. make sure your oil is changed every 5 thousand miles with a good quality oil, such as amsoil euro blend, or mobil synthetic. a good start for added fuel mileage is to get a K&N panel filter for your car, don't get a "cold air kit" those are all hype and most people actually lose power with those. and also you need to free up the exhaust a lil bit as well. those two things will help free up some extra mileage for ya.

Awesome. Thanks. I'm new to the VW world so I'm still learning about the car. I appreciate the information.
