Wider tires installed on front/ narrower on back

Asked by MJGILL99 Nov 07, 2019 at 08:58 PM about the 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 300 Sport 4MATIC

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took my son's car in for an oil change and also
the car sounded louder than it had b4 inside the
car.  I was told that the tire shop my son got his
tires had put the tires on wrong and put the wider
tires in the front and the narrower tires in the back.
He has been driving the car for 4 months!!
Has anyone ever heard of this and I'm worried
about problems in the future? Someone told me it
could affect the transmission? Hopefully, the tire
shop will be responsible?

If the tires are different diameters you will have problems. Switch them back!

i plan on taking car back to the tire shop tomorrow but wanted to be prepared what the consequences could be...
