Why my engine will not start.

Asked by Luchian Jun 04, 2014 at 06:21 PM about the 2000 Chrysler Sebring JXi Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to replace my engine for a 2000 Chrysler Sebring. The motor turns over but will not start.  It will fire when I spray gas into the intake.  I have fuel pressure and spark but the motor will not start.  Could it be the computer...does it have to be reset with a different engine installed? If not, what else could be the problem? Can an engine be diagnosed if it is not running? thanks, Tim

I would have your timing checked. If you're getting a spark and fuel, it should start. If it's the same engine the computer should be fine.
