What causes brakes to wear down to the rotor on
driver side, but passenger side is like new?

Seized caliper pins. Use silicone paste on slider pins. Caliper cannot freely move on caliper bracket. Make sure to clean off all the old (if there is any) and do not put too much. Also do not put any on end of pin as this will keep pin from seating all the way in. It will have a tendency to want to pop out creating uneven wear again.
Is caliper working on passenger side? Do you have signs of a leak on passenger side? Soft pedal? I have read that driver side will wear a LITTLE more due to always having more weight more often but this does not sound like your case as the pads look brand new. Flexible brake hose might have collapsed internally keeping pressure from working caliper. This cannot usually be seen visually. I have replaced them when at a loss and it has helped my braking. Sounds like truck wants to veer left when braking? Bleed brakes and see if air comes out of that caliper. This may also tell you if your flexible hose is collapsing when pedal is depressed.

Thanks for the info, let me add more to this. I replaced the driver side rotor and pad and had a really hard time getting one of the cylinders to retract back into the caliper. When I checked the passenger side both front and back rotors are rusty as if the pads are never making contact. I bought this truck last year and shortly after the TIPM lit up the dash board. I don't know if that can affect the master cylinder?
A brake job by someone that is not experienced can lead to all kinds of issues like that. Silicone grease properly applied is necessary to provide free movement of parts. Some people cheap out and use regular grease or none at all and that will cause problems. Caliper can also be an issue.
2007 Dodge 1500 4 dr long box 4x4 4.7l. I just replaced all four rotors and pads. Less than a year old. All rotors and pads were worn evenly, but wore out. What would cause this?
