Do you have an on-screen display in the instrument cluster? One that shows more than just odometer and trip, but has screens you can go through? If you do, you need to go into one of the Settings screens and change the "Units" from Standard to Metric. This should change everything, IF you have this option. Some manufacturers put the Settings you need into the Nav system center display. Being a 2000 MY, I'm not sure if this is an option for your vehicle though. If your climate control reads in Celcius, then your Speedometer should be reading in km/hr as well. Hopefully you have the option, but if the car was manufactured for overseas or the Canadian market, this may be a fixed thing that wouldn't be optional til later model years.

Press H and M clock buttons for 3 seconds and it will enable to set metric values like L/Km and °C.
