Practice this on level ground at very low speeds first. Rather than putting car in Drive, put the car in Low. There is a THUMB control on the left side of the Gear shift stick labeled + (Plus) and - (Minus). You can treat your transmission almost exactly as if it is a Manual transmission switching manual to gear up and down. Keep Very tight view on the RPMs to Overspeeding. Care ful not to switch to low when at high speed. It works well to override your automatic transmission. If you have questions, read your owners manual about this feature first.
