Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Picked up my Chevy yesterday from the mechanic
had two transmission lines replaced due leaking.
Took it home parked well went to go out of town
today I made it 10 minutes out on the highway and
problems started.
My car started running rough my engine light came
on , smoke coming form hood, drive light blinking
seen white smoke from rear not sure if it was
actually coming from there or wind was blowing it
from the front.I pulled off to the side of the road
turned off the car opened the hood antifreeze was
boiling looked underneath and the was a ton of
transmission fluid leaking. I had it towed back to
the shop they open Monday till then I’m setting her
freaking wondering if my car isn’t really messed up
and advise would be great thanks  joAnn

Apparently they did a poor job replacing your transmission lines. Any damage to the vehicle is on THEM! When they balk at fixing it for free, threaten to contact your local Office of Consumer Affairs and the BBB. They'll change their tune. Hope that helps! Jim

Well my shop called me and they called in a transmission mechanic to help well now I was told it was a bad pressure solenoid . Since I had a leak the pressure couldn’t build up now née lines on pressure nowhere to go . My question is shouldn’t they of checked that out before putting them on? So it their trying to say it’s on my dime.

They sure should have checked that as part of the diagnostics of the original leak. Still their mess up! Hope that helps! Jim
