Intermittent cooling fan

Asked by bhuot Dec 30, 2019 at 08:09 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze LTZ Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The cooling fan runs intermittently, it runs one day
and the next day it doesn't.  When it does run it
makes a somewhat loud noise prior to fan starts
rotating.

Cooling fans only run when needed. They should cycle on and off unless it is really hot or you have the AC on.

I realize cooling fans runs when needed. I can turn my a/c on and no a/c. When the fan does run I have A/C.

Cooling fan comes on as soon as start my car. The sensor shows...ac off due to overheating and the gauge shows cold and does not move. Never goes to hot.
