Engines listed for the 1st generation FJ/JX Sebring, 1995 to 2000 are: 2.0 L 420A I4 // 2.4 L EDZ I4// 2.4 L EDV/EDT I4 // 2.5 L 6G73 V6...that one. the 2.5 6G73 is a Mitsubishi engine V6

Now I looked at this car: the 1990 Mitsubishi Galant 1983 to 1990 model years and it had either the 2.4 L 4G64 I4 or the 3.0 L 6G72 V6

OK finally I found the 8th Generation Mitsubishi, 1996 to 2003 did have the 3.0 L 6G72 V6. So going by the fact that your '96 Sebring will take a 6G73 V6 I see no reason the 6G72 V6 they will not swap. Bad grammar, I used a double negative. I am trying to say it looks like that 3.0 V6 will drop in your car...but must be complete..and I mean 100% complete all electronics must come with. From this car
