2012 Nissan Altima 4cyl

Asked by GuruKQ4PT Dec 11, 2019 at 09:15 PM about the 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our 2012 Nissan Altima has 210,000 miles
on it and the car had no rpms and went into
limp mode so we had a mechanic check for
codes and it said the step stepper motor so
we ordered one off eBay and the mechanic
put it on and new filter new gasket and new
fluid well I drove it 30 miles and it started
acting up again so I took it back to mechanic
cause the service engine soon light came on
and he hooked it up and it said step stepper
motor malfunction so why would a new part
malfunction within 30 miles is it something
else I don't know what else to do I've already
got 530 dollars now into all this and still no
hope someone tell me something it threw
the code for it three times

Was it a new part or used part? Was it exactly the right part for your year, model, and engine? Also, the problem may lie in an electrical circuit and not that specific part. They may need to run one or more tests to diagnose the circuit if it's faulty, and sometimes replacing one part may reveal an previously hidden underlying problem.

Yes the part was new we've run every test there is and that's all it says three times is step stepper motor malfunction. The only place to get one is Amazon and eBay it's been almost 4 months now
