Head Gasket problem.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2012 Nissan Altima. I purchased pre-owned certified by dealer. It has
not been a year yet. A few months after purchase I had white smoke that later
started turning blue. I got it fixed and was told it was cv unit. Yesterday I took
car into dealership and was told I have seepage in casket. Are they related?
Did I get screwed with the purchase?

A head gasket issue due to overheating prior to your purchase of it will result in a warped head (metal), If the same head is used in the repair (cheapest), even if resurfaced will continue to warp and the head gasket will leak again in the future. (Which is it or something else) The CV axle or CVT (Continuously variable transmission) neither will result in white or blue smoke from exhaust(assuming) but head gasket issue will. White is coolant & Blue is oil burning. May have had coolant leaking in cylinder for a while which can destroy the ring/seal set on pistons, resulting in oil seeping past them and burning in combustion chamber. Hard to say, but since it had problems two months in and again at a year I would think something is wrong somewhere too.

Since it is a dealership did you have or buy a warranty? Read the fine print. See if you had any lemon clause. I doubt it but its your money. See if you can take it back (if financed) with no credit default. Some do and will, just ask.
