Misfiring issue while under load

Asked by GuruX3NCM Nov 26, 2018 at 08:43 AM about the 2011 RAM 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 5.7 liter. My #5 coil pack went bad, so I replaced it with a new one as well the spark plugs for that coil pack. It seemed to run better, until I started driving it. It will smooth out the closer I get to 3000 rpm, but when at an idle it seems smooth running. When I go up a hill it get worse. I am currently replacing all the spark plugs, and will proceed with new coil packs, and so forth. My shop I normally take it to says that I need to take it to the dealer. They believe it is in the Brain Box. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you

I had the same problem with my Monty Carlo. I also replaced the coil pack . It also ran better then before. CHECK your sparkplug wire......Make sure you are also getting power at the other end.
