Car misfiring- 2012 Chevy Malibu ltz 3.6

So My car started running horribly, losing power and sputtering. I let it sit for
a few weeks while i were down with influenza A. So my son and myself
changed the plugs and tried starting the car, the battery were dead, jumped
the car and just wasn't enough to crank it. So Today went and bought a new
battery, got it home, and hooked it up, now it will take a bit for the car to
crank, and when it does it last for a few seconds and dies again. It won't stay
running. What are the possibilities of why this is happening, and what can be
done to fix it?

How many miles? Could be timing chains.
