Is the porsche cayenne more expensive to maintain than the BMW x6

I think parts prices are higher for the Porsche, but you will need them less often.

Stay away from dealers, order your parts on-line and have a Porsche speed shop or yourself, for that matter, do all the work, and it's no more expensive than any other car that is dealer serviced. I do a 9+ quart oil service on my 996 for around $55, using Porsche spec oil and filters.
