Alcohol interlock

Question type: General

I have a 2012 Chevy Impala I just bought used with 88500 miles.  I had to have an alcohol interlock device place on it.  For some reason the car doesn't deliver constant power to keep the interlock signal constant...therefore generating an a "start vehicle" alert while I'm driving.  Does anyone know if the car exerts intermittent power to its electrical components...such as powering down when car is idle or not being accelerated?  Interlock manufacturer stated that it needs a constant 150 volts not to lose the signal.  I previously had the interlock device in a 1999 Camry with no issues.  I know this is an odd topic but any input would be greatly appreciated.

150 volts? Not sure you should be driving at all but I think you will have to complain to the court ordered installer.

installer can't figure it out. Just hoping to find some info here. I assume its volts Interlock manufacturer stated the device must remain at 150 or above to keep signal intact. I assumed 150 meant volts.

If the device needs 150v there is a transformer involved. I think you need better technical specs for the device.
