I put my battery in the wrong way

I have a 2006 Dodge Charger 5.7 motor I put
my battery in the wrong way so I got a new
battery and put it in the right way now the
car want stay charged. I change the
alternator the alternator was good got the
battery checked the battery was good. If I
put jumping cables on it it starts right up but
soon when I take the jumper cables off it will
turn off in about 4 minutes don't know
what's going on need help

There is usually a fusible link (a bigger fuse) or a relay, in cars nowadays, to protect the computer if you happen to hook up the battery backwards. Perhaps they call it a main power relay. If it's a relay in your particular model, try swapping it with another one that isnt important, like the A/C relay, and see it it works.
