Making a Dodge Durango faster

Asked by Austin_Baker1 Oct 17, 2019 at 01:14 AM about the 2006 Dodge Durango Limited 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

So I currently have a 2006 4.7 Dodge Durango and
am wanting to make it faster and still pull our trailer
which it barely does with the 4.7. The engine in it
right now is having a lot of problems and is gonna
cost a lot to fix so we’re currently looking at
swapping the engine for a HEMI or something else.
Is the HEMI the best one to do or is there a faster
option out there? And if the HEMI is the best what
can you add to that to make it faster?

The 6.4 Hemi is the most powerful of it's series. But how much do you want to stick into it? If you want make it more powerful add a tuner but I think it would be plenty enough power in a Durango as well as the 5.7 would have enough as well.
