What is causing my electrical issues?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What would be the cause of a line of issues that happened to my car all at
once. Issues are as follows:
-headlights don't work (high beams do however)
-windshield wipers work on and off randomly
-right turn signal blinks super fast on dashboard (left is normal)

I would think the your PCM or ECM may be defective and or needs to be re-programed

That sounds more like a body control module (BCM), check it's connections and grounds, make sure it isn't sitting in water

We were ready to junk our daughter’s 2009 Jetta. It has 93,000 km’s. Took it to two different mechanics and they couldn’t find anything. All dash lights on, doors unlocking and locking, gas pedal not working, won’t shift. The list goes on. My husband tried his hand at it. There is a wire box under the windshield wipers. Google says 8-10 inches, peel back outer casing on wires and one will be arcing. Nope. My husband decides to look at a couple more inches. Yup. Wire totally broken. Hooked the wire back up again. Everything works!
