Radiator fan doesn't turn on after ignition turned off.

When I have been driving hard and turn the
car off.the radiator often boils over and
leaks through the overflow tank. I thunk the
fan is supposed to run after I switch the
ignition off, but it isn't running. What can I
do to check what is wrong.
