Where is the Navigation system and how does it work?

I am in the market for a car and came across an 2004 Audi A6 2.7L Quattro. It says that it has a Navigation system. I cant seem to find it even though there is a Nav button on the console and when I press it, it says to insert the CD Rom. Where is the Navigation screen?

This is a question for your Audi dealer. Mom's 2004 A4 is pretty complex and I think some of the Nav function comes in the digital dash display.
The nav system is intergrated into the mmi system. when you press the nav button it will come up on the mmi screen. if no disc is installed you need to get one. the cd unit to put the disc into is either in your glove box or in the n/s compartment in ur boot. if you cant find it in either of those places it hasnt got nav.
the navi is in the front by the instrument cluster its a small screen infront of the steering wheel
ummm if it's telling you to insert a CD-Rom then it is missing the Navigation data needed to actually make use of the navigation system (in other words, you don't have any maps, which would be on the CD-Rom).
If there is no screen what so ever, then most likely the screen is going to be between the speedo meter and the engine rpm guage, good Luck. These are nice Cars. Mohammad
It is in front of you behind the steering wheel, in that small service screen. it is very odd.
I think that you should read the manual first, evry explained there ! Also try to find your navigation CD and put inside. The navigation working good for me . but you should install new maps. bit complicated. _______________________________________________________________ www.dvdvideosoft.com
