Pull the blinker switch back toward you.

Yes, and if you want to just "flash "your high beams for a moment to signal another car, just pull the turn signal indicator lever gently and release. By the way, some cars require that you push the lever away from you. If it's spring loaded it will click when you do this. Treat these switches gently, a lot of people mash these and they can easily break. If you're careful, you'll avoid a costly repair.
