Car wont start and oil light is on

I have a 2005 dodge caravan my husband tried to start it
but it wouldnt turn over he then realized the oil light was
on so he checked the oil and it was dry shouldwe try tofill
up with oil to fix it or could something else be wrong?

Yes that would be a good place to start. What do you mean when you say"it won't turn over?" Is the starter engaging, or is it like a dead battery and won't do anything?

I would try to put oil in the engine your car could have a oil safety where it wont start with low oil, I would look into why it would be bone dry on the dipstick first
