Dodge ignition

Asked by GuruB51QK Dec 11, 2018 at 08:00 PM about the 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT Club Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota
with a 4.7 magnum v-8. I turn
the key and I am getting no
fuel pump kicking on. The
starter won't do anything,  so I
replaced the battery and
jumped the starter to crank it
over with dumping a small
amount of fuel in the air intake
and it won't fire up. Not sure if
its something in the ignition
switch. Please help

IF turning the key wouldn't get it to turn over. Try a test relay in place of the starter. Then look into the ignition switch. A couple simple wires on the back of the ignition switch( One from +12V ro the IGN circuit, and a second temproarily to the START circuit.
