Engine codes on a 2012 Mini Cooper S

Asked by Janet Jun 18, 2020 at 06:53 PM about the 2012 MINI Countryman S ALL4 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

About 2 months ago my husband and I bought a
Mini, it has 64000 miles and drove beautifully on the
way home. Two weeks later the check engine light
came on while I was driving, flashing yellow on the
speedometer and the rpm meter. The mini started
hesitating & driving sluggishly. I drove it back home
& took it to a Mini & BMW mechanic in my city, the
coils and spark plugs were replaced. A couple of
weeks pass and the light comes on AGAIN.
The codes are:
2EFE
2F01
2EE2
2EEC

The car is driving fine & the check engine light is on
on the rpm meter but not flashing on the
speedometer like the first time. It’s a wee bit
frustrating.

The codes you listed are Mini/BMW codes. We would need OBDii codes to help. Have an auto parts store scan for the codes for free and post back. I will tell you buying a used Mini is always an issue, as they are not reliable modes of transportation, and expensive to repair, that is why you see so many on the used car lots.
