When you do an overhaul like that, be sure to evacuate the system with vacuum pump made for A/C to get all air and moisture out. Then add 5 ounces of refrigerant oil (it comes in a small can) and no more than two 14 ounce cans of 134a while watching high side pressure. If you are not familiar with doing a complete overhaul, get help and borrow the right equipment.
