Possible Symptoms: Hard starting Stalling Rough idle Poor fuel economy Possible Causes: Defective VVT oil flow control valve (stuck open) VVT oil flow control valve sticking due to oil contamination or varnish buildup VVT oil flow control valve receiving voltage all the time due to electrical short in wiring Cam phaser may be stuck in full advance position Cam phaser return spring (helical gear phasers only) may be broken
Those are some nasty codes and could be connected, but you won't know until you fix one and re-read the check engine
i have had a few issues with my old jetta what engine do you have? i had the 2.5L engine and some of my issues were water related. Had water build up in my engine constantly during cold weather and never burn off. it all went to my oil pan and froze blocking my oil pump. which also blew apart my vacum pump which is oil based driven.
