Change AWD 2002 Astro van to manuel trans

Asked by Richah Nov 10, 2012 at 12:11 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Astro LS Extended AWD

Question type: Car Customization

I want better fuel mileage and a more solid feel in the drivetrain. Not to mention the greater reliability of
a manuel trans and being able to jump start. Also what about an overdrive for the manuel or for that
matter the automatic?

It has a 4 speed auto in it the 3rd gear is direct drive and 4th is overdrive. As far as converting it goes, you are better off finding someone with a similar model with a manual in it looking to trade.
