Jeeps are known for cylinder missfires. Fist thing to check is your spark plugs. Then after that if they all apear to be gapped correctly and there is no damage i would then check your coil packs. Odds are you have a bad ignition pack on cylinder 3. What other problems are going on?
Ok here we go;.. New coil pack. New Crank Sensor. New Fuel Injectors. New O2 sensors. All Mopar. Checked vac for lifter prob. Valve prob. Cyl. Pres. Stuck valve. Vac test was perfect. Fuel pres perfect. Idle air sensor new. Air temp sensor new. The fuel rail, injectors, and manifold are wrapped like Mummies in heat shield material. Checked all P.C.M grounds. Continuity checks on ALL the Wiring harness. Only thing I can POSSIBLY think It could be is, the P C.M Maybe the Camshaft syncronizer? Nothing I've done Has changed the probs. It idles not smoothly. As if its due for a tune up. Runs out fine at speed. Doesn't drop tpms at a light in gear. It also acts as if it's Heat soaked the Fuel injectors. But, it hasnt. I'm ready to sell it . It would be a shame. The body is rust free with only 67000 miles on it. I need help
HELLO SAME THING ON MY 01 CHEROKEE SPORT!! Replace coil pack, all 4 o2 sensors, plugs, and nothing helps! 158,000 miles and only trying to preserve it for teenage son, otherwise it would be in the river. Only occurs once engine is warmed to 210-220, shut off, and restarted, but NOT every time, so if it isn't throwing a code, mechanic thinks I'm nuts. HELP!!
Coolant temp sensor replace it. Think about it it's hapn when it comes up to temp
