Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 jeep cherokee sport will not start sometimes.  For instance, if I shut off the car to pump gas and pay, when I return and try to start, it wont start.  Replaced starter, still does it. Cleaned battery cables, still does it.  Usually it will start again in almost the same amount of time - around 10-15 minutes.

It originally had a grey head key, but had to replace that when lost. The key didn't take any special programming when having remade as my daughter's Dodge Stratus did.

I understand this post is old and I’m having the same exact issue. Were you able to resolve this and how was this fixed?
