Car revs real high rpms but slow to no acceleration

Asked by Smac1958 Mar 08, 2019 at 05:59 PM about the 2012 Nissan Versa 1.6 SV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 Nissan Versa 1.6 SV.  When I
accelerate, the engine revs 4000 - 5000 rpms, but
the vehicle barely moves. There are no  DTC codes.
What could the problem be?

Isuspect a clutch slip caused by aworn out clutch or pressure plate if its a manual gear box. If aoutomatic trans mission,it could be low OR DIRTY ATF.May need gear box flushing and ATF change.
